Sickness Policy

Do not enter the building if you or any of the children you are dropping off have any of these symptoms:

• Have been advised by a health department or health care provider to quarantine.

• Have been diagnosed with any sickness.

  • Fever (A fever is defined as a temperature of 100 °F or higher taken under the arm, 101 oF taken orally, or 102 °F taken rectally. Children under 4 months must not have a rectal temperature of 101 °F or higher.)

  • Diarrhea (runny, watery, or bloody stools)

  • Vomiting

  • Unknown rash

  • Sore throat with fever and swollen glands

  • Severe coughing (child becomes blue or red in the face, or makes a high-pitched whooping sound after coughing)

  • Eye discharge (thick mucus or pus draining from the eye, or pink eye)

  • Discharge from nose (constant, thick, green or yellow mucus)

  • Yellowish skin or eyes

  • Child is irritable, continuously crying, or requires more attention than staff members can provide without affecting the health and safety of the other children in the program
